Senior AccountantReporting to:Director of Finance and Administration
Description:
Working in a dynamic and growing environment, this newly created position will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial statements. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in providing accounting and analytical support to the Director of Finance and will perform special accounting projects as required.
Duties will include the following:
- Prepare general ledger and month-end closing entries including: payroll, expense accruals, cost allocations, depreciation calculations, and prepaid amortizations.
- Perform all accounts payable functions, including reviewing vendor invoices for proper authorization and include appropriate documentation, and processing of checks.
- Maintain fixed asset records and initiate draws from capital equipment line of credit.
- Prepare revenue recognition entries based on the progress of the projects and the companys revenue recognition policy.
- Prepare year-end audit and tax schedules as required.
- Process bi-weekly payroll through payroll service, and transfer employee contributions to 401K plan.
- Process all financial transactions and reports related government grants.
- Analyze monthly budget variances and assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Assist in the development of internal controls and integration of the MRP system to QuickBooks.
Requirements
- BBA in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
- 5 years of corporate accounting experience.
- Excellent Excel, Power Point and QuickBooks Pro skills required.
- ADP electronic payroll processing.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience with implementing new financial systems.
